Burnley Confirm Another US Tour

Burnley will be undertaking a pre-season tour to California and Oregon in mid-July in preparation for their first season in the Premier League.

The Clarets Official Website has confirmed the fixtures and given more details about the US Tour.

The Clarets will play Ventura County Fusion at the club's Bulldog Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, 20th July. The game is provisionally scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm.

VC Fusion is a PDL team in the third tier of American soccer

The Clarets will also play a second game in the Los Angeles area on Wednesday, 22nd July (opponents yet to be confirmed).

The Portland Timbers had already announced this week on their Official site that they would be playing the Clarets on homesoil on Saturday, July 25 at 7 p.m local time.

Portland Timbers is an American professional soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 2001, the team plays in the USL First Division (USL-1), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.

The team plays its home games at PGE Park, where they have played since 2003.

The team's colors are green and white and their current general manager and head coach is New Zealander Gavin Wilkinson.

Speaking about the friendly match, Wilkinson said:

'As one of its preseason matches, Burnley will be making the final preparations for the Premier League season, which sets the stage for a very competitive match.'

Strange they are not going to WakeMed Soccer Park in North Carolina again in view of their links now with Cary Clarets/Carolina Railhawks. West Coast stuff, hell that will be expensive and tiring but what fun!
