Clarets under the Portugal Sun! -Thompson Explains

Clarets under the Portugal Sun! -Thompson Explains

Owen Coyle has decided to take the squad to Portugal this weekend. They have headed out to the Vale do Lobo complex in the Algarve for a four-day training session in the sun.

This will hopefully better prepare them for the big day at Wembley and the play-off final with Sheffield United at Wembley on May 25.

In the Sun newspaper Steven Thompson is quoted as saying the following about the trip:

'It`s just a getaway from the madness that is here. We have earned it with the length of our season and the amount of games we have played. But we are not going over there to sit on our bums, we are going over there to train every day.'

Thompson one of our two heroes and goal-scorers in the 2-0 defeat of Reading at the Madejski in the Play-Offs semi-final second leg last week added:

'It`s a very good set-up. I was there with Cardiff in pre-season last summer.'

What's the mood like in Cardiff at the moment, CC? Have they had thier special final game at Ninian Park yet? It must seem like torture after their death plunge out of the play-offs.
