Rumour Mill - Riordan back on the agenda?

Rumour Mill - Riordan back on the agenda?

The BBC Sport pages have linked both Burnley and Lokomotiv Moscow with Derek Riordan.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move from Celtic during the closed season however this appeared to break down when Burnley and Celtic could not agree a fee.

He then moved to Hibernian for an undisclosed fee where he has scored 11 goals this season in 30 appearances.

However he has made the headlines with his off pitch antics in the past. Whether we want someone who attracts such negative publicity is another question.

I was dreading this one coming back again. I might be wrong but I cant imagine Coyle being interested in transfers at the moment since for one thing we dont know which league we will be in until after 25th May. I suppose he could be having players watched and putting the feelers out but surely the whole finacial kaboodle will change if we get promoted and we could then start considering more expensive better quality players?

I must admit I thought we had seen the back of this. I for one would not like to see him in Claret and Blue, not unless he learns to shut his mouth.

Burnley made a £400,000 offer I think but Celtic were talking it up to £1m

It could just be sloppy journlism putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. Obvious previous links to both Riordan and Scotland. I am surpised we haven't been lined to Driver again(Coventry after him-Coventry City are poised to make a £2m bid for Hearts winger Andrew Driver. )

Think you misread that mate originally, he was signed for £170,000 by Celtic in January 2006 with Hibs anxious not to lose him for nothing when his contract was due to finish that summer. His transfer back to Hibs was an undisclosed fee as far as I can make out
