Vital Burnley Launch Special Wembley Forum

The big day is getting close. The day when the Clarets face Sheffield United at Wembley in the Championship Play-Offs Final and have a chance to be in the top flight for the first time since 1976. That day is Spring Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 2009 and already the clamour for tickets has begun and questions are being raised.

The last time we were at Wembley was back in 1994 when Jimmy Mullens's side defeated Stockport County in the Second Division (League 1) play-offs final. A lot has changed since then including the fact that the old stadium has long since been demolished and replaced by a brand spanking new one so the Clarets will be playing at the new Wembley for the first time in their history.

A number of our posters have been asking questions about the big day. There are lots of things to sort out, the process for obtaining Wembley tickets, travel and car-parking arrangements, information about Wembley itself and of course the most important of them all, where are we going to meet for pre-match drinky poos?

In addition to asking for information and providing the detail, posters are of course keen to discuss the match in all it's aspects and have a bit of fun predicting the result.

Vital Burnley therefore have decided to lauunch a Special Wembley Forum so our posters will be able to access all things Wembley in the same place.

The forum is called Wembley Matchday Mayhem and can be entered by clicking this direct link:

Wembley Matchday Mayhem Link

The forum is packed with useful tips and information and is a place where you can raise any questions. Vital Burnley admin will try and answer your questions if we can.

Also in the forum is a thread where Clarets fans and Blades fans can enter into banter about the fast approaching Wembley clash. The thread is a sticky entitled The Great Que Sera Sera Thread!-Clarets v Blades @Wembley. There is also a facility for Clarets fans to have a bit of fun and predict the outcome of the match.

So come on you Clarets fans what are you waiting for, come and have some fun as we prepare for the big day!

Come on Burnley another claret and blue team would be very nice in the prem. Plus your side is the best outside the prem and play good football unlike those d1cks from Sheffield. Make sure u take a neck brace to the final they just smash everthing long. Good luck guys!!!!!

Cheers SH! Aye would be good to play West Ham again, always thought our two sides over the years from the 70s to recent times have continually produced entertaining, attacking games in the clash of the Claret&Blue

It's going to snowball from here, I hope! :-)

15/05/2009 23:55:00

don't worry turfmanphil west sham will be in the championship next season - they are in so much debt its untrue. typical of a shammy run club!! looking forward to wembley, really confident, and if we play like we all know we are capable of doing we should come out comfortable winners. a club the size of sheff utd should be in the premiership at the end of the day - but what we must ensure we don't do is underestimate burnley otherwise disaster will strike. again congratulations on a awsome season - we expected to be in this position but bet you guys didn't?
16/05/2009 11:56:00
You also expected to get automatic promotion I bet as well till we made it hard work for you at Turf Moor
16/05/2009 12:23:00
like i said turfmanphil you guys have had an amazing season credit where credit is due. I think its great when teams like burnley get to where they are. we were shocking at turf moor, the worst we have played this season and yes we all espected automatic promotion especially with birmingham & reading fighting it out. it going to be a good game but i really do think we will be too much for you guys - but you never know. (on the big occasions we crumble and have done everytime) don't like the fact that everyone is labelling us the favourites - that tag always bites you in the ass - and is music to your ears!!
