Burnley X-Files: Lowe on the Go!

Kidderminster Harriers manager and former Clarets player and first team coach Mark Yates has released seven of his players with just four of his squad being offered new contracts.

One of the players released is the well-travelled defender and former Clarets loan, Keith Lowe.

Lowe had a brief spell at Burnley on loan from Wolves being signed by Steve Cotterill in the 2005/6 season. The full back made sixteen appearances for the Clarets and put in some good solid performances without ever being outstanding.

That loan from Wolves was the first of many and before he left the club, Lowe had loan spells at QPR, Swansea, Brighton, Cheltenham (2 spells) and finally at Port Vale where he had a season long loan in 2007-8.

At the end of that season he was finally released by Wolves and eventually he joined Blue Square Premier side, Kidderminster Harriers on a non-contract basis. Mark Yates side finished sixth this season just missing out on the Blue Square Premier play-offs. Lowe played 37 times for the club and even scored 3 goals during his time at Aggborough.

Lowe, born in Wolverhampton was a product of Wolves' academy and will have been disappointed not to have made a name for himself at Molineux. His career at the age of 23 now looks to be on a downward spiral but we wish him well.

Solid but average I guess although I thought he would have done better at the Championship,L1 and L2 level
