Coyle Nominated for Manager of Month Again!

Owen Coyle has been shortlisted for the Coca Cola Championship Manager of the Month Award for April. This is the second month running he has been nominated for the award and the third of the season.

The gaffer last won the award back in September. It didn't seem to be a jinx either although there might have been a delayed reaction following that bad spell over Christmas. That's more of a traditional thing though!!

Coyle this time round has been nominated along with Wolves' Mick McCarthy and Birmingham boss Alex McLeish. The manager of local rivals Preston, Alan Irvine has also been put forward for the award

We had just one league defeat in five games in April losing 3-1 to Cardiff at Ninian Park. We won two at home agsint QPR and Sheffield United and earned a point in the draws on the road at Derby County and Southampton.

This will certainly be a tough one for Coyle to win with both Wolves and Birmingham recently securing automatic promotion to the top flight and Preston grabbing the final play-offs spot after some impressive results including a 6-0 drubbing of Cardiff City at home and an away win at Birmingham.

The winner will be announced on Sky Sports News at 1.20pm this Thursday 7th May.

I would think Irvine is best placed to get this so let's hope the jinx goes with it!!

to be fair to PNE - absolutely outstanding final four games for them to make it especially when you think they played both Birmingham and Cardiff in that run. I thought they had blown it after losing at home to Blackpool!

I say give it to Blackwell, Coppell and Irvine - the jinx might just work on all three of them! ;-) Seriously, it's got to be Irvine.

As expected,Alan Irvine has been named as the Championship Manager of the Month for April.

well they have won the last 4 and managed to fluff themselves into the play offs. I'll be watching that match closely tomorrow night, hoping they both struggle to be honest.

I really cant work out in my mind who I want assuming we got to Wembley! I wouldn't mind losing to the Blades but the thought of losing to Preston has to be banished from my mind. Win against Preston though, wouldn't that be something?

Irvine can have it and I hope it is a poison chalice.

Soon find out tonight when they play Blades at Deepdale
