Young Guns at Deepdale for LFA Youth Cup Final

The Clarets Young Guns are in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup Final tonight and face a visit to Deepdale to play local rivals, Preston North End.

Burnley last won the LFA Youth Cup in 2006 at Blackpool and they will be hoping to add some more silverware tonight.

Admission at Deepdale tonight is £1 for season ticket holders. For non-season ticket holders the cost is £4 (adults) and £2 (concessions).

There is also live commentary on Clarets World through the link provided below for those fans who cant make the trip.

This will be a great chance to see how well our new professionals are progressing after Owen Coyle announced recently that professional contracts has been awarded to five of our young guns.

It sounds like the Clarets should be ice cool ahead of this game following news that Youth team coach, Terry Pashley (above)was giving the lads ice baths in preparation for the clash.

Director of Youth Development, Martin Dobson explains:

'Terry Pashley has been getting them in ice baths, which i must admit for an old pro I don't fancy too much, but if it works wonders after the exertions these lads have gone through then I'm all for it!'

Dobson continued:

'It's a big game for them and I'd like to think there is still some energy out there because of the heavy commitments. But there is nothing better than playing on a cup final on a terrific pitch and I'm sure they'll do well. It'll be a good stepping stone for next season, coming in being a successful player at youth level before coming into the much tougher environment of professional football.'

Owen Coyle will also be at the game tonight and is urging all that can to go along and support the boys

'We don't want it to be one-sided, with the lads going to Preston and their home support, so it would be nice if we could get a few along in the Burnley colours to give them that level of support, he said

'That would give them a feeling for what hopefully it will be like when they go on to represent the club at first team level.'

Come on you Young Clarets!!

Ill be listening in on Clarets World tonight and cheering on the boys! Will be a rare opportunity for me to find out more about the youth team. If anybody is going and would like to consider writing a Match report for the site could they let me know?
