News of Ade from Across the Pond

Vital Burnley wish to thank one of our posters, DynamoGuy for providing the site with some local US news concerning Ade Akinbiyi.

DG is a Houston Dynamo fan and will be keeping Vital Burnley updated on Ade's progress over the pond.

Akinbiyi of course recently left Turf Moor for a life-changing career move signing for US MLS side, Houston Dynamo.

On Saturday night he watched his new team play the New York Red Bulls at home, a match that finished 0-0 and he was certainly already feeling the heat!

Speaking to the local Houston Chronicle Akinbiyi said:

'I thought it was hot out today, but they've told me it's nowhere near what it will be,'

DynamoGuy explains that it got no hotter than 80F/26C and advises Ade not to miss any water breaks! Phew!

Akinbiyi trained with his new teammates for the first time on Monday morning at the Carl Lewis Track & Field Complex.

The training involved a light workout, fitness work and some footy games between the squad players

He is however now back in the UK to finalise the visa paperwork at the US Embassy and it is hoped this will be sorted out in time so he can make his Dynamo debut in Sunday's 2:00 p.m. home game against the Colorado Rapids.

Akinbiyi told the Houston Chronicle

'The other forwards have been doing well, so hopefully adding me will put pressure on each one of us to do well.I've got to try to fit in, blend in with the guys, and help the team.'

The Dynamo fans already seem to have taken Ade to heart as you can just about see from this screen shot of a Ade banner (top left)

Good luck Ade and once more thanks to DynamoGuy for keeping us all updated.

Think HD need to change their strip to Claret and Blue forget connection with Blackpool. Lets face it what would you prefer a nice glass of claret or a tangerine, no need to say more.

As long as you call it Orange and not Tangerine I can live with it!! lol By the way, I am sure there used to be a You Tube vid of Ade scoring that hat-trick at Luton a few seasons back but I cant find it now. Anybody got a link to it?
