'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robbie Blake & All Powerade to His Elbow

Robbie Blake beat Sammy Clingan of Norwich City, David Cotterill of Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers' Michael Kightly to win this month's Powerade Player of the Month Award for the Coca-Cola Championship.

Blake contributed to the Clarets great form throughout March in which the club won four of their five league games. He scored two vital goals during the month, the first against Nottingham Forest put the Clarets on their way to a thumping 5-0 victory

His second goal ensured all three points at Plymouth Argyle keeping the Clarets in contention for the play-offs

Chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel Chris Kamara, who is also known to be a great admirer of Robbie said:

'Robbie Blake gets better and better with age. Outside of the Premier League, even though he's 33, he's one of the best around. He's got great skills and his quality has shone through, especially in recent weeks.'

Interesting how the site poll (right) suggests it will be Robbie who gets the most goals in remaining few games compared to recognised target men
