Rhys Williams our loan defender from Middlesbrough is the latest injury concern for Owen Coyle.
He is suffering from a calf injury and joins a long-list of injured players that include Graham Alexander (hamstring), Martin Paterson (hamstring) and Steven Thompson (ankle ligament injury).
Thompson has already been ruled of the crucial game against Derby at Pride Park this Saturday and the other three are battling to be fit in time.
Rhys Williams had originally been named in the full Wales squad to play Finland and Germany in their 2010 World Cup qualifying matches at the Millennium Stadium over the International break. Manager John Toshack though later allowed Rhys Williams to leave the squad and join up with Brian Flynn's Under-21 Squad in Luxembourg for the start of their Euro 2011 Championship qualifying campaign; a match they drew 0-0 last Friday. Wales though then comprehensively beat Luxembourg 5-1 in the return match at Parc Y Scarlets on Tuesday
Owen Coyle had this to say about the injury situation:
'Graham will not train on Thursday and Martin Paterson was withdrawn from Northern Ireland squad and hasn't trained up until this point, although he still has a chance.
'Rhys had a calf knock when he went away with Wales, although he played for Wales U21.
'So there are concerns, but we will train on Thursday and look at it on Friday to see if we can put out the best team to get the three points we are after.'
With potentially both Rhys Williams and Graham Alexander sidelined for the Clarets game at Pride Park this Saturday, there could be a back four headache for Owen Coyle although Michael Duff could return at right back and Gudjonsson take over the holding midfield role if required.
