Coyle up for March Manager of Month

Owen Coyle has been nominated for the March Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Award for the Championship having been shortlisted along with Wolves' Mick McCarthy, Sheffield United's Kevin Blackwell and Norwich City gaffer Bryan Gunn

We will know this Thursday whether he has won.

Burnley have been unbeaten this month with four wins against Blackpool, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Plymouth Argyle, with a draw at Ipswich Town; a run of results that has seen the Clarets rise to 5th in the table and firmly put them in with a chance of a play-offs place with six games left to play.

This will be the second time that Coyle has been nominated for this award. He won the award for September this season and contrary to popular myth for once proved the sceptics wrong that this award was a poison chalice. In the next two months we won five of the eleven league games, drawing three and losing three. We also had a memorable victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Carling Cup 4th Round.

Come on Owen!

Especially when you consider we have only conceded 4 goals and scored 13 in those matches too

Good luck to Owen for today. He thoroughly deserves it. Infact I go as far to say he deserves manager of the season.

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has won the Championship manager of the month award for March. Oh well, never mind! :-(

Well I hope it is a posion chalice then!! and they go on to lose their games in April!! But then I think its typical we hardly ever get the recognition we deserve eg How many times have Wolves and Birmingham been featured match on the Championship!

I think we have seen a little shift this season thanks to mainly our Cup exploits, I sense a little bit more respect now but we are far from fashionable
