Just cant seem to get excited about England anymore somehow, I wouldn't lose any sleep if we didn't qualify to be honest

I can't believe you have said that Phil?i was gutted when we did not get through to the Euro Finals ruined my summer in fact the thing is with the current England side i have a good feeling we can really do something great much like Burnley this season i suppose,I like Beckham i still think he gets a lot of flack by most people which i don't think he deserves,i think he is a great role model for kids and a great Ambassador for the game and i still think he has a lot to offer, barring a mass of injuries i think we have a great chance and see us sailing through to the finals and then doing something very special you so it here first ;-)and congratulations to the under 21s tonight a great win over Norway 5-0 the future looks bright Daz white

Just not the same for me mate, it brought it home to me the other night when I watched the Brian Clough documentary! He was the best manager we never had and because they thought they couldn't handle him,he wasn't given the job even though we would have probably won two World Cups at least under him. Since then its been woeful and now we have to run the indignity of having foreign managers in charge of the England team! Give me strength, over paid players, underachieving run by a manager that doesnt even have any English blood in him! Seriously couldn't give a bugger anymore, certainly not patriotic any more,it just doesnt seem the same!

I too watched the Clough Documentary can't wait to watch the film he had passion and a decent striker in his playing days but how would you define manager? Owen Coyle is not English but we would gladly hope he takes us up,if Capello won us the Cup you can't say you would not be be bothered!

I strongly believe as a National coach/manager. you have to have passion when push comes to shove. You have to bleed English blood, you have to really care. I just cant see Sven ,Postman Pat and the like at the end of the day being worried or not if we win the World Cup as they cash their latest huge, obscene pay cheque. Cloughie would have cared and I think would have been successful. I have tried to watch the last few England games and fallen asleep in all of them, sorry just doesn't interest me anymore

I'm sure Beckham will get this record cap even though it will probably be as a sub - given that England will qualify for the World Cup then there are a lot more to come. . .all as sub.
