Sky Dictate Change to Blades Fixture

Our Championship game against Sheffield United at Turf Moor has been re-arranged due to Sky Sports wanting to cover the game live.

The game originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18th will now take place on Monday 20th April, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

I am not very happy about this to be honest and just wonder how many exiled Clarets have already been planning a trip up on the weekend to watch this game. If I had been on a contract at the moment I would probably have had to miss this game, which as a season ticket holder, I would not have been too pleased about.

Fed up of being dictated to by the likes of Sky to be honest and something should be done about it!

Why they cant decide which matches they are going to cover at the start of the season and stick to it, I dont know. I am fed up of having to change plans to accommodate the whims of TV

Hi, I never made a comment on this site before but after reading this news I'd just had to! Because you just don't make this situation were I'm just in, up! It's like a bad joke! (I wish it was!!): I found it unbelievable that Sky can just move the game to another day! especially in such a short time notice! Because me and some friends are from Holland (10 in total) and already booked a flight and a hostel in Liverpool to see Burnley on the 18th of april against Sheffield Utd! We arrive on a friday and leave on a monday morning..I have no idea what to do now..We were planning on going to the Wigan-Man Utd game as well, but that game is postponed! So you could imagine how I'm feeling now :S What the *%#@!! is probably best to describe it! Complaining about it at Burnley FC or Sky would probably make no difference.. :( Hopefully me and my friends can change the flight to tuesday but we have to book another hostel aswell.. It makes it all complicated and it's very frustrating - especially if you're from abroad..

If its a buget airline from here likelyhood is they don't! we have tried to change flights from Holland in the past the only let you book for the day after full whack with no refunds. I think to your point TMP Sky should give at least 3months notice if they are going to change the time or date of the fixtures or play it at 3pm on a sat like it should be!

This is blinking typical, I now have to change my shift as I am on a late. Hopefully someone will be able to accommodate. Although can't complain been lucky with shifts and people swapping only had to miss 1 game so far. But they should announce televised games at begining of season. Or play game earlier or later on the Sat

I dont want to go into too much detail but the Club have responded well to bfclarets1 complaint but clearly longer term something has to be done to avoid this nonsense. Surely if Sky want to suddenly feature a game, they should respect the fans wishes and at least cover it on the same day as the original fixture. They should also have been able to realise 3 months ago that Burnley & Blades were likely to be in Top 6 and should have made decision to cover game then, not less than one month before the game

This is very unfair on all the fans from both teams and may deny a lot of people from being at the ground in which the match could be a real cracker. Having said that there are some advantages which may actually be unfair on other teams but we won't complain too much about that. For a start we get a bit more rest and time to recover from the match before and more importantly both Burnley and Sheff Utd will know what the other teams will have done in their weekend matches.

I wonder how many complaints the club have officially received? I hope they pass them all on to Sky Sports
