'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Hit the Site, Help the Club' Raises Another £200

Vital Burnley in conjunction with When the Ball Moves...Online can announce we have now proudly raised another £200 to buy one more Burnley FC share via Clarets Trust.

This has been achieved simply by our all users, readers and posters contributing to the hits on the site over the last quarter in response to our 'Hit the Site, Help the Club' campaign.

The more joint hits Vital Burnley and When the Ball Moves...Online can get, the more money we can donate. We started the campaign late last year and we have now raised £400 and we are well on track to more than double that by the end of 2009.

This link will provide you with more of the background:

400 'Hit the Site, Help the Club' on Vital Burnley

Thanks to everyone for your help.

We want to do so much more though, do you know if we can increase our hits by five times the current levels we could be talking about donating £4000 per year to Clarets Trust to buy 20 shares in Burnley Football Club? Can you all help us achieve that target? Do you know say five more Clarets chums online? Why not get them to register and use the site?

The importance to the club of buying shares can be summed up by Burnley FC Director and Clarets Trust Life Member, Clive Holt who said recently:

'I must also thank the Trust for their continued purchase of club shares, which helps to strengthen the club and give the Trust both weight and a voice of authority'

Clarets Trust is aiming for a minimum of 100 shares to ensure they remain in the top ten of shareholders (not counting Burnley FC Directors) and have already purchased 89 shares or £17,800 worth in total (@£200/share).

With your help, Vital Burnley can be a significant force in helping to reach that aim

The site currently has over 400 members registered and can achieve well over 800,000 hits/month.

Let's try all we can to spread the word and build our great little community!

What can be easier than simply using a Clarets website to financially help the club whilst having a bit of fun at the same time and being kept informed about all things Claret?

We can also now see the benefit to the Club and fans of buying shares in the club via Clarets Trust. The Trust announced yesterday their involvement in helping to fund the new diasbled shelters now available at Turf Moor (see also Official Site article-New Disabled Shelters In Place). The Trust share purchase policy helped fund this by targeting some of the money towards the shelters. Vital Burnley though donating money to purchase shares via the Trust are therefore contributing to the club's success and fans enjoyment. Here is the link for article with photo of shelter on the Trust site: http://www.claretstrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=189&Itemid=31
