Come in Number 8! (FA Cup Quarter Final Draw)

Come in Number 8! (FA Cup Quarter Final Draw)

The Clarets will be in the hat for the FA Cup quarter-final draw, which will be live on ITV at around 6.30pm today following the Derby County v Manchester United game..

Of course we still have quite a bit to do before we know for definite whether we will have reached the FA Cup Quarter Final.

There is still the little matter of who we will play in the 5th round with Arsenal playing Cardiff in their 4th round replay at the Emirates tomorrow night.

The majority of Clarets fans will be hoping for a Gunners victory which would set us up nicely for a juicy and finacially rewarding game at the Emirates on the weekend of Saturday, March 7 or Sunday, March 8th, 2009.

On the other hand, Clarets will have to drag themselves to Ninian Park on the night of Wednesday, February 25, 2009 should the Bluebirds progress to the 5th round.

Nevertheless, we are still in the hat so watch out for Ball Number 8, the number we share with Arsenal & Cardiff

The full list of numbers are as follows:

1 Sheffield United or Hull City
2 Chelsea
3 West Ham United or Middlesbrough
4 Blackburn Rovers or Coventry City
5 Derby County or Manchester United
6 Swansea City or Fulham
7 Everton or Aston Villa
8 Cardiff City or Arsenal or Burnley

So then beat Arsenal at the Emirates and then Manchester United at Turf Moor? Simples!!

Who would you like in the FA Cup Quarter Final assuming we got there? Let us know below or discuss in our forums

Why do I feel we might be playing Blackburn this year? Oh well we at least will know by tomorrow night who we face in 5th Round..and it better be Arsenal!!

I can't see why Arsenal and Cardiff could not have been played on the Saturday apart from tv rights it would have made things a lot more simplistic

Surely we have had more than our fair share of 'good' draws this season? :-) I can just see it being Sheff Utd/Hull or West Ham/Boro to be honest!

Everton are starting to look good again - Really impressed with how they have coped with basically no strikeforce!

Dale is spot on, we face Sheff Utd or Hull if we get past 5th round. At least it will be at home

A draw for us at the Emirates or deepest darkest Wales, a reply win for us, then a win over Sheff Utd or Hull at the Turf, avoid Mann U or Chelsea in the Semi's then it's Wembly bound for us. Is that the alarm clock I hear. Though it is entirely possible.
