Burnley X-Files- Mo 'On the Go' Camara

Former Clarets defender Mo Camara has signed for SPL side St Mirren until the end of the season.

The left back was released by Derby last week, and was quick to find another suiter!

Camara since leaving the Clarets has been quite the journeyman.

The 33 year old had the chance to make his mark with Celtic, of all clubs joining them at the end of his two-year contract under the Bosman ruling at the end of the 2004/5 season.

After a dodgy start and the butt of a few jokes from Buoys fans (and Clarets fans for that matter) Camara started to do well and established himself as a defender in Celtic's first eleven under Gordon Strachan. However after Ross Wallace was converted into a left-back, Camara was relegated to the bench and made only rare appearances. Celtic then signed right-back Mark Wilson who somehow then finshed up at left back, with Camara further dropping down the pecking order.

Up stepped the Rams to boost his flagging career with Mo joining Derby County on a free transfer in August 2006.

Derby then signed Jay McEveley in the January transfer window of 2007, another player with Clarets connections and Mo's days were once again numbered.

Whilst on the books at Pride Park, Camara played about 12 games for Norwich last season on loan and earlier this season had another loan stint, this time at Blackpool.

However new Derby manager Nigel Clough couldn't see a future for the player so his contract was cancelled on February 2, 2009.

The Guinea international is still awaiting international clearance to play for St Mirren but manager Gus MacPherson told the club's website:

"The main thing is that the contracts have been signed and Mo is now a St Mirren player,"

"When you see the level that Mo has played at, he is a quality player"

Good luck at St. Mirren, Mo!!

I always liked Mo in that 'funny sort of way'! Always tried to get forward, but then we were vulnerable on the counter attack because the rest didn't see what what was going on! Oh well, good luck old chap!

He looked good getting forward, but when he got there how often did he put the ball into the cricket field stand. His second season was definetly better than his first although I still remember him getting a torrid time from Wade in the cup game on Turf.

Aye not the most accurate with his shooting although he was unlucky not to score more sometimes. Still all water under the bridge now and yep certainly remember the Wade Elliott effort against him in the Bournemouth cup game. Think it was probably that performance by Wado which gave Cotterill the scent to go after him

I always thought that would have been the convinving factor that Wade was the man for Burnley - I think SC would have already been well aware of him with his Cherry connections!
