'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's Snow Joke for Tonight's Match?

The Clarets made an official statement on the Official website yesterday regarding the FA Cup 4th Round replay against West Brom at Turf Moor tonight (Tuesday 3rd Feb)

'Burnley Football Club remains hopeful of Tuesday night's FA Cup fourth-round replay against WBA taking place as scheduled.

'Undersoil heating is in operation and snow clearing and gritting is continuously taking place, both on the surrounds and inside stadium seating areas.

'However, with heavy snow showers expected overnight, no decision will be made until Tuesday morning at the earliest.'

That heavy snow did arrive putting the game tonight in jeopardy. We will bring you news as soon as the club announce whether the game goes ahead or not.

The bad weather across the nation is causing havoc to football fixtures with the FA Cup 4th round replay between Arsenal and Cardiff at the Emirates already postponed yesterday and rescheduled for Monday 16th February.

If we had beaten West Brom our 5th Round match would have been against either Arsenal or Cardiff on Saturday 14th but that is clearly not going to happen with the 4th round replay at the Emirates now postponed

This should mean we will play Wolves in the Championship as originally scheduled on Saturday 14th February with our FA Cup against the Baggies if postponed probably rescheduled for week commencing 16th February.

The Coventry game at the Ricoh had also provisionally been rescheduled for Tuesday 17th February so that too could now potentially need to be rearranged once more.

What a confusing situation! If a butterfly farts in Bombay, will it effect our FA Cup scheduling?

The sky is blue and the snow is melting it should be on:-)

Confirmed now that the match will go ahead
turfmanphil
I wish it wasn't on tonight as the players need a rest, especially with games against Birmingham and Wolves coming up.
Claretacchio
That is a fair point Claretacchio although there would probably never be a good time to play this game [Edited by turfmanphil]
