Kiraly Looks Set for Loan to Bayer Leverkusen

Clarets keeper Gabor Kiraly looks set to join German side Bayer Leverkusen on loan until the end of the season assuming all the paperwork is in order and can be sorted out.

Bayer Leverkusen are former Champions League finalists and require goalkeeper cover after an injury to their second-choice keeper.

Gabor is out of contract at Turf Moor in the summer and has failed to make a single first-team appearance during 2008/9.

Owen Coyle announced in the Summer of 2008 that he would listen to offers for the Hungarian international.

Kiraly will be no stranger to German football having played previously for Hertha Berlin during a 7 year spell in which he made over 200 appearances.

The 32 year old was signed by Steve Cotterill in the Summer of 2007 on a free transfer from Crystal Palace but the keeper has never really settled at Turf Moor despite having a spell as the regular first team choice ahead of Brian Jensen. With the arrival of Deigo Penny, he effectively became our third string keeper and has not featured in Owen Coyle's plans.

I feel a bit sorry for him in some ways but hey ho,he had to go
turfmanphil
It makes you think had he not gone would Williams have come in?

He'll (probably not ) always be a Claret but he did have a few good games for us in his spell at TM. That said, it is time to bid farewell to the tracky bottomed custodian and if this is true then he is joining a pretty decent German outfit.

good riddance to an awful keeper.....He must rank as one of the worst ever signings at the club..

What's the problem with this deal? Seems to be taking a long time to conclude wht should be a formality.
