Rumour Mill-Ade Akinbyebye to Ipswich?

34 year old Ade Akinbiyi, very much a fringe player these days for the Clarets is understood to be interesting Ipswich Town.

The rumour according to independent Ipswich online fanzine, TWTD was reported in one of today's tabloids(The Sun). The fans site mentions that Ipswich are seeking a striker but they would be surprised if the much travelled journeyman, Akinbiyi fitted the bill

There have been many rumours concerning Ade this season, especially during the transfer windows but none of the rumoured moves have materialised.

We shall have to see if Ade remains on the books by the 2nd February when the window closes but with our squad relatively small and with no new faces about to come it certainly not permanent ones, perhaps we have to keep the squad intact if we are to realise our dream of promotion. Whatever happens Ade could well be retiring at the end of this season in any case.

I don't know i heard this yesterday and he seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Burnley,He would be missed even if it's just on team spirit alone,Here is another player rumoured we are interested in.

a host of north–west clubs including Preston, Burnley, Oldham and Blackpool are all monitoring the progress of non–league Droylsden player Paul Budimir

I think it is time to free up Ade's wages - Unfortunately he doesn't look up to/for it when he comes on. Thank you Ade - but the time has come!

I have to say I saw him after the game at Watford last night and he distinctly looked disinterested. Sat alone outside the ground and wasn't acknowledged by any of the players are they headed onto the coach.

Might now be time to bid farewell to the big frontman. He isn't getting many games and must be on decent wages so letting him go will give someone else a chance. Not sure who but at least there'll be some more money in the pot.

I can see that the money will help but unless we use it to get a player by end Jan window we will be yet another player down in the squad with supposedly a promotion battle to win?

Bit concerned about Dr W's comments too. Sounds very unlike Ade, he has a reputation for being a great motivator in the dressing room and is not one to sulk?

Ade had probably laid into the players for their crap performance...as he enters the twilight days of his playing career, I think he will make an excellent coach...UTC

I am not sure about him being a good coach Cardiff - Technically he has never been a good player ( ie. first touch, passing). It was his physical attributes ie. pace and power that made him into a useful player. These are things that you cannot really coach into a player.
