Neil Warnock Praises Burnley

Neil Warnock, currently manager of Crystal Palace has this week praised Burnley FC in his regular Saturday column of 'The Independent' newspaper.

Over the years, Neil Warncok has not been the most popular of managers as far as Clarets fans are concerned. It all goes back to a tiff or two he used to have with former Clarets manager, Stan Ternent during his time as manager at Sheffield United.

Neil Warnock of course must have the most unwelcome (for him) anagram possible and in case anybody doesn't know we call him Colin, in fact Colin ****** (rhymes with banker you tosser!!)

However, strangely enough in recent times I have had a soft spot for the owd lad and during the last round of managerial changes at Turf Moor, I wouldn't have been unduly worried had he applied for and got the job.

He has a proven record of getting sides promoted, not least the Blades in 2005-6 as runners up following four promotions via the playoffs in the 1990s for Notts County (2) Huddersfield and Plymouth.

I have religiously read his column in 'The Independent' over the years he has been writing them and it has been noticeable until recently that he rarely ever praised or even mentioned the Clarets (perhaps understandably)

However I was delighted to read today his comments about our criminal exit from the Carling Cup under a sub-title which read 'Brave Burnley did the Championship Proud'

He wrote:

'As a Championship manager, I felt so proud of them against Spurs on Wednesday. It was not just huff and puff, their quality was super'

Great comments and thanks so much for saying that Neil, I mean Colin, no sorry Neil!!

fair play and exactly right - Their was not a shortage of quality about our play on Wednesday!

I don't trust him - he must be up to something and Owen should make sure there's no-one listening in to his team talk when we play Palace in March !
