Rumour Mill-Warren Feeney Snub

Cardiff Northern Ireland international striker,Warren Feeney currently on a one year loan with Dundee United has been the subject of transfer speculation this week having been linked with a number of clubs including the Clarets.

Huddersfield and Carlisle were also thought to be interested.

The 28 year old though appears to have snubbed all the clubs saying he prefers to stay at Tannadice until the end of the season rather than choose a permanent move back to England.

Feeney speaking about the interest from other clubs said:

'The manager called me to ask what I wanted to do because there was interest from clubs in England.

'But I told him I wanted to stay. I've come up here to play football and am loving it.

'The club is on a roll, it's exciting times here and I want to be part of that.

'I told Craig Levein I'd be here for the season and that's what I'm going to stick to.

'I'd love to play a part in helping this club get back into Europe.'

'I've got another year left at Cardiff so it's really just a case of waiting until the summer to see what happens.

'They are in the play-offs just now so who knows what could happen in the next few months.

'The main thing just now is focusing on Dundee United, playing as many games and getting as many goals as I can.'

Looks like a non-runner but interesting non the less and we shall see what happens to the player in the Summer.

Do we need someone like Feeney? Summer 2009 might be interesting if we do and Coyle does actually want him.

Maybe not a priority but might give us options if Paterson and/or Thompson are sidelined?

Hello Turfmanphil, Johngriff here. Feeney came to the Swans from Cardiff on loan last season, thats like you getting someone from Preston!!,anyway, the guy gave us 100% every game, scored 6 goals in 10 games before he got injured and cut the loan short. I wouldnt hesitate to have him in any championship side.Good luck against Spurs........
