Rumour Mill-Back for McMahon?
Owen Coyle still wants to sign Middlesbrough right-back Tony McMahon according to media reports today.
McMahon is believed to have turned down a move to the Clarets earlier this month, but it is understood Owen Coyle is trying again for the defender and is still in talks with the club.
The reports also suggest Coyle hopes to land McMahon before Saturday`s promotion clash with local rivals, Preston.
McMahon has been unable to retain a regular place in Gareth Southgate's team and being out of contract in the summer he would be able to leave Boro on a free transfer at the end of the season It is thought cash-strapped Burnley are trying to sign him earlier for a modest fee in the January window.
The 22 year old signed for Middlebrough in 2004 and they have been his only professional club to date although he has had loan spells at both Blackpool and recently Sheffield Wednesday.
He was an Owl for most of this season making 20 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday on loan before returning to Middlesbrough in October. He has just made his first appearance of the 2008-09 season for Middlesbrough in a match against Arsenal last month.
He was captain of the Middlesbrough side that won the FA Youth Cup during the 2003-04 season. He has also represented England at under-17 and under-18 level.

Jay Rodriguez is interested in a loan move to Italian Serie A team Reggina. Owen Coyles wish to see him getting regular first team football will see the youngster, who has scored vital goals recently against Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, move to Italy until the end of the season. This move could also see Reggina defender Pablo Alvarez coming on loan to Burnley.

I work at Burnley Football Club and have just seen Darius Vassell enter the main building, It has been said that Owen Coyle would like to bolster his attacking options and believes Darius is the man to do this as he has found him self dropping down the pecking order at Manchester City.
If this deal is to go through it his rumoured the fee will be around 500k.

Burnley are apparantly close to sealing a deal for england legend robbie fowler on a pay as you play, part time coaching role as burnley manager owen coyle beleives he needs more footballing experience into his relitively inadequate coaching staff.

Ian Moore could make a dramatic return to Turf Moor. It is believed that his sensational goal tally at Tranmere this season has raised more than a few eyebrows of the powers that be in the dark corridors of Burnley. Ronnie Moore is rumoured to want a fee in the region of £400k. Moore is seen as a suitable replacement for Chris Eagles whose transfer away from Burnley is now almost signed and sealed.
