Rumour Mill-Bes Berisha

Ekstra Bladet in the Danish media suggests AC Horsens currently struggling in the Danish top-flight league want to take winger Bes Berisha to the club on a short-term contract.Berisha would be no stranger to the Danish club. He played for them on loan in 2005-6 during his time with Hamburg

The Albanian International has yet to make his competitive debut for the Clarets and has struggled with injury since Steve Cotterill signed him in 2007.

He suffered from a cruciate knee ligament injury that ruled him out of the whole of the 2007/08 campaign.

Owen Coyle wanted him to rebuild his fitness levels this season and surplus to requirements was loaned out to Norwegian side, Rosenborg until the end of last year.

However he then picked up another injury(a muscle injury in his leg) which prevented him playing in Rosenborg's last match of the season against FC Copenhagen.

He therefore returned to Burnley in early December before flying out to his family in Berlin to recuperate over Christmas

'I have my family in Berlin, and this is a good time to see them before I get started in Burnley again. Burnley is doing great in the championship and it will be fun to get back again' said Berisha

It will be interesting to see if Berisha still figures in Owen Coyle's plans after the gaffer made it plain he would like to sell or loan out some of his fringe players to release cash to bring in some fresh faces in the January window.

Would like to see him get a few starts in the team if he's fit although I guess he could be a candidate for release in January. Hope it's just a loan if so!

I don't think Coyle rates him and to be honest none of us really know if he is that good. We will only find out if he plays for us. I would rather him play in league 1 or 2 to get used to the english game.

I am reminded of that blinder of a goal he scored in the friendly against Accy, maybe a loan would be fair but surely we need to see him play for us sometime or we will never know

Looks like the loan is going to happen! Owen Coyle: "Besart Berisha's close with a Danish club. I'll probably know more today (Thursday) on that, but that would be until the end of the season. It's certainly closer than the last few days."

I agree with smitrit - If he is to be loaned out would prefer it was to a league 1 team to get him used to the english game. If he is to play for us next season he is probably then going to need another X amount of games to get used to english football! Do we know where he ranks in our wage list?

Looks like a fait acomplis if you read latest from Coyle:"There have been one or two enquires to take Besart on loan for the remainder of the season.People have got to remember that he was out for a year with a career threatening injury, so he has to get games under his belt. With all due respect, he is not going to play in front of Chris Eagles or Wade Elliott at this club at the moment, so if we could get him three or four months, playing week in and week out, then he will come back in pre-season hopefully in a good state and ready to challenge for a place." Fair enough, but what happens if we are forced to sell Eagles and/or Elliott late this window? Hope we have a strong re-call clause. By the way didnt Duff have a career-threatening injury?
