Brighton out of running for Gifton?

It appears that Brighton could not afford to take over the contract of Gifton Noel-Williams.

The former Stoke and Watford target man is under contract to Burnley until June 2007.

Noel-Williams now looks likely to join Millwall

Mark McGhee is reported as saying:

'He[Gifton] has a year on his contract left and Burnley are insisting we take over his contract. The fact is the club cannot afford to do that, it's as simple as that'
