Cotterill for Crewe?

League One Crewe currently struggling at the foot of the table have lined up former Burnley boss Steve Cotterill as their new manager according to Setanta Sports.

Crewe's last manager was Steve Holland who departed last month

Railwaymen stalwart and former manager, Dario Gradi has since been placed in temporary charge.

It is understood the board met last week to discuss a number of managerial options before deciding to fully endorse Cotterill as the right man to rescue the club from their current plight and save them from relegation to League Two.

Cotterill has been out of management since departing Turf Moor in November 2007 and has recently stated his desire to return to football.

Good luck Steve, no easy task should you get the job!

I think SC would do a good job at Crewe - Not sure it is the right club for him though.

Cotterill says it's all rubbish! Cotterill told skysports.com that speculation was "wide of the mark" and that he hadn't applied for the job nor would he be doing so. He went on to say "I wish them all the best in their search, but it is not something I would be interested in. He finished off by saying "I think this is just gossip you get in football and you can't do anything about it."
