No Derby but Derby Yes Please?

Well we now know who will be in the hat for the Carling Cup Semi-Final Draw this Saturday.

Tottenham defeated Watford 2-1 at Vicarege Road last night spoiling the dreams of the Championship side.

One team we wont be facing is Blackburn Rovers convincingly knocked out 5-3 by Manchester United at Old Trafford thanks mainly to Tevez who hit the net four times.

So any dreams of a hot, intense derby with our local rivals have been shattered but maybe our best hope is to draw another derby in Derby County.

We recently beat them 3-0 at Turf Moor and they should be the easier team to beat over the two leg semi final.

This could certainly be our best chance of reaching Wembley for the final rather than try and defeat more cream of London in Tottenham Hotspur or chance our luck against Tevez and Co!

As our Journalist Martyn Robbo has pointed out, beating Derby in the Semi and facing Manchester United in the final, could mean we are playing in Europe whether we beat the Red Devils or not. A place in the Uefa Cup will be guaranteed because United will already be playing in the Champions League.

How cool is that?

Still first things first, who do you want in the Semis? Maybe you dont agree with the above logic and fancy a game against Spurs in the Semi or Final, a side we have done well against over the years in various Cup competitions although they do look on fire at the moment.

Vote in our new poll before the draw on Saturday and explain your choice and logic below

Don't think that's right - you have to WIN the League Cup to qualify for the UEFA Cup. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade! :-(

Well i'm happy i hoped we would play spurs. Utd over 2legs hmmm not one i'd look foward to & as for Derby would be bloody typical of us to do over Chelsea & arsenal only to get beat off Derby.
