Its Arsenal Again!!

Burnley will play Arsenal at Turf Moor in the Quarter Final of the Carling Cup

Clarets fans might be disappointed we didn't get a Manchester United or Blackburn who draw each other at Old Trafford. A local tie of this ilk could have been a great money spinner but we cant complain

19% in a recent Vital Burnley Poll wanted the Clarets to play Arsenal, the third highest behind Blackburn (28%) and Manchester United (22%)

The full poll results were as follows:

Arsenal 19%
Blackburn 28%
Derby 4%
Man United 22%
Stoke 6%
Tottenham 4%
Watford 17%

It was only last January that Arsenal were the visitors to Turf Moor in the FA Cup 3rd Round. We went down 2-0 and Lafferty was sent off but we earned a lot of respect from that game and Arsene Wenger will not be relishing another hike up north with the Clarets now in even better form having just despatched arguably the best team in Europe on their own soil.

Can we beat yet another of the Top 3 Premier League clubs?

We shall find out in the first week of December when all the ties will be played

The full draw was as follows:

Stoke City v Derby County
Manchester United v Blackburn Rovers
Burnley v Arsenal
Watford v Tottenham Hotspur

Good Lord it's them again! Can we do it this time against Wengers Young Guns?

Are you any better than Sheffield united?

Who? lol

Best route through to the Semis ..I think....3-0 to the Clarets
Cardiff_Claret
Unfortunately for Burnley, our Young Guns are better than our first team at the moment. If Wenger didnt employ his youth policy in the Cup and played his first team, I think Burnley would have been a great chance.

if you can beat Chelsea at the bridge.....you can beat Arsenal at Turf Moor....even the young ones....

I think AG, I agree with LB, your Young Gunners will certainly face their toughest challenge yet and they wont relish a cold, wet night in the wilds of Turf Moor!. How's Mark Randall doing these days by the way? Could he be playing against us? He seemed to struggle a little bit when on loan for us. I am hoping the Championship tougher game might be a little too much for your other youngsters
turfmanphil
I also think that the kids might not fancy a cold wet night in Burnley - If they do, we might have a problem! Vela in particular looks like he will grow to be a class act - and Wilshere also looks to have bags of potential!
Claretdale
I think this will be a tough test for us as Wenger knows roughly what to expect after playing the Fa Cup last season so he won't under estimate us like Chelsea did. Not to meation they have some Cracking young lads that would make most 1st team in the prem.
ruane
Randall is doing alright, he had a quite game against wigan, but seems like a decent prospect (i.e. Might make it at a lower prem club...). But if fit, he will definitely play against you lot.
