Come in Number 3! (Carling Cup Draw Details)

Come in Number 3! (Carling Cup Draw Details)

Well I certainly didn't think I would be writing this article but the glorious defeat of Chelsea last night of course means that I now can.

The draw for the 5th Round of the Carling Cup will be made this Saturday on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday from 12.15pm and the following numbered balls of the eight remaining teams will be in the hat:

1. Arsenal
2. Blackburn Rovers
3. Burnley
4. Derby County
5. ManchesterUnited
6. Stoke City
7. Tottenham Hotspur
8. Watford

The games will be played during the week commencing December 1st

This could be a good time to play Blackburn Rovers and get some revenge although others might prefer a juicy tie with Manchester United at Turf Moor or an easier tie on paper at least against one of the remaining Championship teams, Watford or Derby.

Vital Burnley are running a poll on the front page asking for your preferred opponent for the Clarets game so come and make your choice and state your reasons below this article or in our forums.

I have gone for Watford at home - In theory, the best chance we have of getting a 2 leg semi.

Cheers Merlin, you guys have been magnanimous in defeat . Are we really only the second team to beat you at Stamford Bridge since 2004? It would just be like us to fail against Watford and Derby, I would rather play one of the top guys, at least if we lose it wont hurt so much (Rovers aside) and we get some money

I have to agree with Turfmanphils logic...I don't want Watford to draw the easier teams of Burnley or Derby either. I'd rather have Blackburn or Man Utd in truth...

Remember Watford a few years ago in the cup. We just never turned up for it, but I want Watford at home. In all honesty we are unlikely to win this, so need to get money out of it. Watford at home could fill the home ends for the simple reason that we have a great chance of making the semi final and getting the money spinner there. Failing that can we get Watford in the semi's :)
