New Loan-Start of Something Good?

Burnley have added to their squad this week by signing defender Phil Bardsley from Manchester United. A local Mancunian lad born in Salford

He will be with us until the end of the season and will be in the squad for the game with Stoke City on Saturday.

Phil can play right-back or central defence. The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Old Trafford and was part of their FA Youth Cup winning team of 2003.He made his senior debut in the League Cup at the end of 2003 before spending four months with Belgian side Royal Antwerp. He made his first team breakthrough this season, playing 15 times, invariably deputising for Gary Neville, with his Premiership debut coming against Blackburn last September.

This is the first time that we have seen business between these two clubs with Steve in charge and lets hope this relationship develops further. We can all remember the friendship that developed between Sir Alex Ferguson and Stan Ternent leading to a number of deals including David May, Luke Chadwick and Lee Roche. Lets hope this relationship develops further and leads to great things for Burnley FC!

Club text says there will be another loan that will be announced today*! I am going to stick my neck out here and predict it will be Andy Gray!

* Well this now looks like the announcement will be made Friday morning
