Owen's 'Oh No' Award

Owen's 'Oh No' Award

Owen Coyle has won the Coca Cola Championship Manager of the Month Award for September.

The Clarets came top of the monthly table with four victories and one draw, those 13 points pipping Plymouth, Reading and Wolves.

Paul Sturrock, Mick McCarthy and Steve Coppell were the other managers in the frame for the award.

Congratulations are of course in order but most Clarets fans will no doubt be hoping this isn't the kiss of death with the award often being associated with team slumps in the following months!

The last time Burnley won this award was under Steve Cotterill a couple of seasons back and we all know what happened then.

Andy Gray injury and a 19 winless run!

The worrying thing is Reading look very good at home...and the dreaded 'curse' that is Manager of the Month does tend to hit our manager's more often than not :-(
