'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kiraly can go for free!

The former Crystal Palace and Hungarian International keeper, Gabor Kiraly is currently our third choice between the sticks behind Brian Jensen and Diego Penny.

The keeper has not featured at all for the Clarets in any of the pre-season friendlies or matches this season and is clearly out of favour.

Coyle had made it plain that he would listen to offers for the keeper in the close season but nobody appears to have shown enough interest in him.

With the transfer window now closed, the club have now stated that the keeper can leave for free despite still being under contract for another year.

Kiraly although admitting he would relish a new challenge is still looking for the right offer.

Speaking to the Hungarian paper, Vas Nepe, he said:

'I'm one of the better-paid footballers at the club so if Burnley sell me it's good for them financially,'

'There's a clause in my contract that if I play at least 25 games in the season then my contract will be automatically extended by one year.

'Burnley have asked for money for me so far, but recently they decided that I can leave for free.

'But, as I have one year left on my contract I only want to leave Burnley if I receive the right approach.'

It is perhaps surprising that the keeper is still with us although perhaps the stumbling block has been his expected salary versus his considered worth. It is clear we quickly need to bring this sorry saga to an end though and I am sure all Clarets fans will wish Gabor all the best and hope he can find a new club soon.

Good luck, Gabor surprised nobody has snapped him up yet. maybe he would cost too much for lower league sides and Championship sides dont think he has the quality at a price. Hopefully the free transfer offer could excite some interest
