Bes back on Albanian Duty

Besart Berisha has been called-up for the Albanian squad as they prepare for the FIFA 2010 World Cup European Qualifying rounds.

This will be his first taste of International duty since suffering cruciate knee ligament damage while scoring for Albania in a 3-0 win over Malta in August 2007. An injury that saw Berisha sidelined for the whole of last season. He is still waiting to play his full debut for the Clarets and of course is currently on loan to Norwegian side, Rosenborg until January 2009.

Ironically, Albania face Malta in Tirana on Wednesday but first up are Sweden this Saturday at the same venue.

Good to see Bes returning to form and getting selected for his country. just hope we soon see him playing for the Clarets come the New Year

Lets hope lightning does not strike twice for him. I think this loan will really benefit us. He is now scoring and gaining more fitness, so hopefully he will come back to us and ready to finally start his Burnley career. If we can now get our season back on track it would be a great boost for us and will seem like a new signing.

I hope you are right. Bes made two late sub appearances in Albania's qualifier's against Sweden and Malta. In the latter match, he was instrumental by all accounts in Albania's third goal in their 3-0 victory
