Alexander the Great-At least in Scotland!

Graham Alexander has come under increasing criticism by Clarets fans after putting in a number of indifferent to poor performances in the back four.

His case was not helped in the Ipswich match on Saturday when he scored an own goal but at least George Burley is keeping faith in the 36 year old.

Although he has missed out on recent games for Scotland, he has now been recalled to the Scottish squad for the Northern Ireland friendly on Wednesday night at Hampden Park this week.

He does however appear to have been fortunate following a number of injuries to Scottish players over the weekend leading to their withdrawel from the squad.

If he does fetaure in the match he could be playing against his Clarets team mates, Michael Duff and Martin Paterson both selected for the Irish squad.

I feel sorry for Graham at the moment,so this should cheer him up a bit. Owen Coyle does seem to persist with Alexander but for how long? He seems reluctant to drop his vice captain (come to think of it,the captain too) and has even now named him as the penalty taker suggesting he intends to keep him in the team.
