McGreal in the Top 50

Clarets centre-back John McGreal has been included in the top 50 players in the football league, published by Four Four Two magazine.

The experienced defender was at number 37 in the list, a fine achievement in a league of high flying strikers, and creative midfielders.

The 33-year-old has impressed during his time at the Clarets, and is the only Burnley player on the list, although Ade Akinbiyi was ranked in ninth place, no doubt his position helped by his goalscoring form in his time with the Clarets.

Sheffield United's Phil Jagielka topped the list, with last years winner Steve Sidwell in second place, followed by Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson.

Do you agree with those positions, and the placement of McGreal? Do you think any other Clarets players should have made the list. Have YOUR say on our Clarets forum.

Where was former Burnley player Robbie Blake?

One player among the 50 best ! It is unbelievable . This illustrates what is happening at club level . Absence of potential talents is very obvious .
