Rumour Mill - Jonathan Douglas

BBC Radio Leeds understands that Burnley manager Owen Coyle is trying to tempt League One outfit Leeds United into selling their midfielder Jonathan Douglas.

Douglas, 26, is an international for the Republic of Ireland and was the captain of Leeds last season, but gaffer McAllister has hinted that he may be about to change his captain.

He joined the Yorkshire outfit in August 2006 after a loan spell from Blackburn Rovers, and has just one year left on his contract.

The midfielder who has scored nine times in over 100 appearances for Leeds was also linked to Burnley in January when Coyle first took control of the Turf Moor club.

I was hoping we would sign him when we were previously linked, but not now. I don't see how he will fit in the squad unless he is to replace Blake in a year or so.

No I don't think we need another midfielder, if any one comes in now it has to be a striker or defender.
