Solovjovs to spend more time with Burnley

Latvia's Under 21 International Aleksandrs Solovjovs has extended his trial period with Burnley, who have been given a view to a permanent deal by Alex's parent club.

Solovjovs, 20, has impressed the Burnley management staff and fans alike with his displays against Glentoran and Bradford City this week, and doing enough for manager Owen Coyle to want to take a further look at the youngster.

The left winger may feature again in tomorrow`s final friendly, at Turf Moor as the Clarets entertain SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle, a game in which Chris Eagles will also make his debut after completing his switch from Manchester United on Tuesday.

Chelsea, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers are said to be interested in the Under 21 Latvian international who is thought to have snubbed a move to UEFA Cup Champions Zenit St Petersburg in favour of a move to England.

"He`s a young player who will undoubtedly get better," said Coyle speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We`ll find out what the costing involved and everything else would be, and then we`ll make a decision on whether it`s viable or not.

"We`ll make a decision for the good of the football club.

"He`s enjoyed being a part of things, we`ve extended his trial for a few days and he`s delighted with how well he`s been treated."
