Burnley X-Files: Oster Rams It Down Throat

John Oster will not be signing for Derby County despite being offered a contract by Paul Jewell.

'We did offer John something but it wasn't acceptable to him and he's got other irons in the fire so it's one we'll be moving away from now.' said Jewell talking to the official website.

The 29-year-old former Welsh international had been on trial ar Pride Park having been released by Reading following their relegation last season.

Oster started his career with Grimsby Town in 1994 before moving to Everton for £1.5 million in 1997. He was on the move again two years later joining Sunderland in a £1 million deal. He never really impressed for the Black Cats spending periods on loan to Barnsley, Grimsby his former club and Leeds United. Sunderland released Oster in January 2005.

The Welsh International was signed by Burnley during Steve Cotterill's reign in 2005, but the spell was brief and he joined Reading on 2 August 2005.

It sounds like once more, money is at the forefront of Oster's mind!
