Rumour Mill-Kevin Kyle

Plymouth Argyle, Burnley and Crystal Palace are being linked with Coventry City striker Kevin Kyle according to the Coventry Telegraph

The Scot returned to the Ricoh Arena recently following his loan spell at Wolves and it would appear his future with the Sky Blues remains uncertain.

Kyle has been critical of the Sky Blues fans making his position at the club somewhat strained. Last season, he was sent off twice and became a subject of abuse from the majority of the Coventry City fans.

Clarets fans will remember one of Kyle's red cards. Kyle fouled Graham Alexander to earn a red card early in the second half of our game against Coventry at the Ricoh on 19th January this year.

Wolves had an option too of making Kyle a permanent signing but they decided against the deal.

The 27 year old former Sunderland player is also one of the highest paid Coventry players (reported to be £8000/week), so if Burnley are interested in his services, agreeing a salary could be a major problem.

Kyle, born in Stranraer has 8 Scottish International caps.

He started his career with Sunderland in 2000 and during his time with the Black Cats also had loan spells with Huddersfield, Darlington and Rochdale.

Kyle signed for Coventry City in August 2006 in a £600,000 deal.

Kevin Kyle, at 6ft 3 could provide the Clarets with attacking options, but his form does seem somewhat inconsistent and footballers critical of the fans are usually poorly tolerated. Kyle was even spurned by his former Sunderland manager, Mick McCarthy at Wolves refusing to sign him on a permanent deal.

Most Clarets fans will be hoping this link remains a rumour and he goes elsewhere.

I hope the more to follow is about him signing for somebody else. Still he might be the player of the ilk that you have been asking for Phil. A target man that gets booed by his own fans.

See my amended article. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, surely we can do better than this. A target man yes, but not Kyle. Is there a weird link here between the Kyles? Lafferty & Kevin?
