The Carolina Railhawks LIVE thread!

Tune into this article thread as we will be bringing you updates throughout the night as the Clarets play their first friendly of their US tour against Railhawks Under-23.

The Carolina RailHawks will be providing a live streaming internet video feed of Burnley's match against the Carolina RailHawks U23s at USLLive.com.

The match will be FREE and will also be archived for on-demand viewing for those of you that will be asleep by the time the match kicks off at 12:30 am BST:

If you are not viewing the game however, dont worry Vital Burnley will bring you key highlights of the match as it unfolds throughout the night on this article.

But if any of the Clarets fans and any Carolina fans are not going to the game why not watch the match and chat about the action as the game unfolds into the early hours of Friday morning UK time?

We will be opening the chatroom at 11:45pm UK time on Thursday night for those of you who can keep awake.

11.45 pm: Vital Burnley Chatroom Opens as we approach the build up to our US friendly match against Cary Railhawks Under 23 team at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.

11.46 pm: Burnley FC Official Site announces teams

Burnley's new signings all start from the bench as pre-season gets underway at Carolina tonight.

However, all players are expected to get a run out at the WakeMed Soccer Park

BURNLEY: Jensen, Alexander, Carlisle, Caldwell, Duff, Mahon, McCann, Gudjonsson, Blake, Elliott, Akinbiyi.

Subs: Van der Schaaf, Kalvenes, Paterson, K McDonald, Rodriguez, Berisha, A MacDonald, Jones, Kay.

RAILHAWKS: Newbold, Graye, Barnes, Danso, Brown, Callahan, Shriver, Videira, Geoffrey, Catchpole, Schilawski.

Subs: Sanchez, Shuler, Fitzgerald, Bone, Ackley.

12:30 am: USLLive now being broadcast, Darren Bentley co-commentating

12.38 am: Match Kicks Off.

01:24 am: Half Time 0-0 Lively start by both teams in first 25 minutes, end to end stuff.Jensen good save after 10 minutes. Kevin MacDonald comes on for Chris McCann on 23 minutes. Chris looks injured. Caly U-23 taking game to Burnley as heat & humidity seem to take effect on Clarets. Elliott, looks a handful and new boy Macdonald looks impressive but we are losing it in midfield and no impact up front although Ade looked dangerous in first 15 minutes.

01:42 am: Second half underway. Paterson on for Akinbiyi and Van der Schaaf for Mahon

01:50 am: Paterson misses a sitter from seven yards after Elliott and Blake link up well. Jay Rodriguez on for Blake.

01:51 am: GOAL 1-0 Burnley-Elliott on an indivudual run to score

01:52 am: Carolina equalise, mistake by Alexander 1-1

02:07 am: Berisha on for Gudjonsson

02:13 am: Cary take lead 2-1 with good individual effort. Alex MacDonald on for Elliott

02:30 am: Final Score Cary U-23 2-1 Burnley. Bit disappointing, lacklustre performance with defensive errors

Not a good start and we looked rusty in lots of areas although heat & humidity had their effect in first half in particular. Too many defensive errors . Lacklustre somehow with nobody really shining. [Edited by turfmanphil]
