The Penny Wont Drop for Railhawks Game

Burnley will not have Diego Penny available for Thursday's opening pre-season friendly against the Cary RailHawks according to the Official site.

The Peruvian international goalkeeper suffered a slight delay with his visa application and will not now arrive in Carolina until the weekend.

Owen Coyle has this to say about the disappointing news:

'He is in the process of getting his work permit, and we all know how hard it is to get into America.

'Hopefully, he will join up with us by the weekend, but he will certainly miss Thursday's game.

'I spoke to Diego last week and it was always going to take seven to ten days, so I'm expecting him at the weekend and then he will come back to England with us, ready to go to Scotland.'

'We would have loved to have Diego in by now.

'Initially it was a blow that we had to get the work permit, given his international standing.

'But the good thing is we know he will hook up with us soon and quickly integrate with the players.'
