Signing could be close for the Clarets

BURNLEY gaffer Owen Coyle has this afternoon hinted that he is close to another signing, which could be announced by the end of the day, no prizes for guessing which name is being mentioned.

The man whose name will no doubt be shortened should he sign
because not even my greatness can remember his name, I have to look it up.

But the news this morning was that Dutch midfielder Remco van der Schaaf was close to agreeing a move to Turf Moor and low and behold, a few hours later Coyle says:

'We have two offers on the table for very good players.

'One, we could announce at the end of the day and I hope he will join us.

'The other is a lot more complicated, but he is a real bit of quality - and we would need permission with his club because there is obviously a big fee involved with that player.

'We will wait and see, but we are definitely trying to bring the right sort of players to our club.'

Should any signing be announced, Vital Burnley will be one of the first to let you know!

This big fee mention is exciting, but also worrying. I suppose the club know what they are doing financially, so I think I will just remain excited :-)
