'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Clarets can Mexican Wave Goodbye to Carrusca

Owen Coyle revealed back in January that we were interested in signing 24 year old Argentine winger, Marcelo Adrián Carrusca on loan from Turkish side, Galatasaray.

'We tried to sign Carrusca on loan from Galatasaray but that looks as if it has hit a snag at their end,

'We put in a very good offer to bring the player in on loan until the end of the season and there has been a difference of opinion between Galatasaray and the player.

'At the moment that looks like it won't happen so I'm disappointed with that but we'll move on. He would have been a great addition to the squad, being a natural wide left player.'

Owen Coyle also made it plain in January 2008 that he would still love to sign him and that a summer move could be on the cards. If not a permanent move, then a loan could be a possibility.

No further links have been made to the player since that time by the media or by the Club but Clarets fans were left wondering if we still had that interest during this summer frenzy of transfer gossip.

If we had then our hopes have been dashed with the news that the player, famously called the 'New Maradona' by the original version now looks certain to sign for the Mexican team Cruz Azul AC, after being released by Turkish champions Galatasaray.

According to the Club's Official Website, the player has agreed contractual terms and looks set to offically sign this Monday.
