Rumour Mill-Remco van der Schaaf.

The Burnley Express have linked Burnley with a move for Dutch midfielder Remco van der Schaaf.

His previous club was Vitesse Arnhem but he is now out of contract having played 29 games for them last season scoring three goals.

A former PSV Eindhoven player under Guus Hiddink, the 29 year old is also interesting Cardiff and a number of Turkish clubs.

It is believed Cardiff held talks with Van der Schaaf last week and showed him around their training ground.

Looks like Bergkamp to me or however you spell his name. If we get him, I hope he is half the player.

he wants a lot of money! If Ridsdale couldn't even pay him what he wants - I wouldn't rate your chances..... That said, he doesn't sound very exciting

Daily Mail Online state: Burnley manager Owen Coyle is trying to snatch Dutch midfielder Remco van der Schaaf from under the noses of Championship rivals Cardiff City. The 29-year-old former PSV Eindhoven is a free agent after leaving Vitesse Arnhem and has spoken to both Coyle and David Jones's FA Cup runners-up.
