Coyle Updates on His Transfer Targets

Well despite the claims and counter claims doing the rounds concerning the possible signing of Celtic's Derek Riordan,Owen Coyle whilst dismissing recent interest in the Celtic striker offered some news on his other targets.

He has stated previously, he would want to sign at least three new players to supplement the four he has already brought in during the close season. He appears to want a new player in each area of the field ie a defender, a midfielder and a striker

It has also been widely reported recently that he had two specific unnamed targets in mind and that he was hoping to have all his signings in place by the time he leaves with the squad for thir US tour a week today.

Coyle appears to be satisfied with the way talks with these two other targets are progressing so far.

"Talks were positive but not quite hard and fast in respect of an agreed deal," Coyle said to the LT

"Whether it`s something we revisit, time will tell.

"But I thought talks were positive and there were some encouraging signs within it, but nothing concrete."

This might put a stop to seeing a picture of Riordan all way down the homepage now :-)

Yep, wish we had more Riordan photos we can use! I might start putting up Shane MacGowan instead!! ;-)

At least if you sign Riordon you wont have trouble recognising him.
