Burnley X-Files: Dyer Turns Down Saints

Southampton winger Nathan Dyer has turned down the club's offer of a new contract.

The 20-year-old is now a free agent and is on a week-to-week deal until he decides his future.

'We need players who are happy to be here and whose heart is with Southampton.' said Saints, Head coach Jan Poortvliet.

Dyer has therefore been ordered to train separately from the first-team squad.

These are difficult times for Nathan Dyer
with the player also recently charged with burglary last month along with Southampton team mate, Bradley Wright-Phillips following an incident at a Portsmouth nightclub.

The news however is bound to fuel speculation amongst the Clarets faithful that maybe we should look at bringing the former loan player back to Turf Moor on a permanent basis. He delighted the crowd during his stay at the club.

However, with the burglary charge hanging over him, he may no longer be hot property for the moment but only time will tell.

Would you bring him back even with the burglary charge hanging over him? Probably cant afford him anyway

Problem is would OC want him? It was SC that brought him here. Looked good and caused a lot of problems, but is he worth the wages and extra handbags...er.....baggage. Maybe he justs needs a change of scenery. i would have him in the squad.

At least he would be on a Bosman free
