'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coyle Wants 3 More New Signings

Following the hectic week last week in which four new Clarets signed in (Paterson, McDonald, Penny and Kalvanes), Owen Coyle has confirmed he wont be putting his feet up in the transfer market.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph he said:

"I haven`t stopped there. There are other players out there who I would like to come to the football club.

"We were looking to strengthen every department. We`ve brought a goalkeeper in, a defender, midfielder and an attacker.

"I`m still looking for another defender, midfielder and striker. But they have to be the right player. I`ve said it before, I won`t be bringing anyone in for the sake of it."

This will all be encouraging news to Clarets fans bolstered by last weeks's signings after a few disappointments. The impatience shown by some Clarets (myself included!) now looks to be just that!

"Everything came together in a week, but these things haven`t happened overnight, continued Coyle

"It`s happened over a period of time and I`ve still got another three or four things that I`m working on.

"Hopefully they can come to fruition."

All sounds good, and this time round,Clarets fans will be inclined to believe his intentions after what seemed a long time before words became actions in last week's spate of signings.

The only problem is 3 more would get the playing staff upto 18 including Gabor i think we need a fair few more than 3 to stand a chance of staying in this division let alone going for the playoffs.

Only 3? I'd hope for a few more to be honest...its no use talking up our chance for the play offs and having a paper thin squad. I do agree players shouldn't be brought in for the sake of it, but I don't want to see another annual Burnley collapse due to a lack of squad players!

I make it we now have 22 players, 3 more would make it 25. Just about enough, reckon we need 25-30 to compete, so hopefully we could supplement 25 with loans bearing in mind three are inexperienced young guns and one is Kiraly in current 22!!
