The Clarets Mystery Loan Target is....?

It has been a hectic week for Burnley gaffer, Owen Coyle with four new signings in almost as many days. Diego Penny, Martin Paterson, Christian Kalvenes and Kevin McDonald are now all on board and still we are bring linked to more targets so will next week be just as hectic as we prepare for the pre-season friendlies and the US tour in July?

Only time will tell. One strong piece of gossip appears to be that we are closing in on a loan signing but if true only a couple of names so far have been mentioned.

One clue could be this statement from Owen Coyle this week about seeking young blood:

"I think we`ve got some terrific players at the football club,

"But we needed to add some younger legs because of their hunger and desire."

Could the young blood be in fact a young gun? The Arsenal Young Guns website suggest we might be wanting to bring back midfielder, Mark Randall for a season long loan.Randall played for the Clarets after signing a three month loan deal last January, and appears to have impressed Owen Coyle. Clarets fans were probably less than impressed and the midfielder often looked a bit lost and shell shocked during the rigours of Championship football. He was however injured for a time and maybe wasnt given enough games to form a better opinion. I am sure Clarets fans would be willing to give him a second chance

Coyle has indicated he would be keen to speak with Liam Brady about Randall, and any other young prospects that would be available on loan.

Burnley though could face competition for the 18 year old with Championship rivals Derby County and Birmingham City also declaring an interest.

One other bizarre link which seems to have come from nowhere and therefore needs to be treated with extreme caution is that we could be interested in bringing Rangers defender, Kirk Broadfoot to Turf Moor on loan.

The former St Mirren player signed for Rangers in June 2007 and although predominantly a central defender can also play both on the right and left side of defence.

Now 23 the Irvine born defender was also a Scottish Under 21 International and has also played for the Scotland B team

Would you be willing to give Randall another go? I am a bit undecided to be honest

Kirk Broadfoot on the other hand is probably just a bit of idle gossip, but what do you reckon, if there was a glimmer of truth do you think he could do a job for us? Most think Caldwell now to be the week link in the centre

quality player, would be good for you.

I guess we can judge him better over a longer period but he did seem to struggle for us on loan last season or do you mean Broadfoot?
