Alan Gow on his way to Norwich?

Rangers have accepted a 300,000 offer from Norwich for midfielder Alan Gow according to the Daily Star.

If this goes through and the player finishes up at Carrow Road so much for the waffle his agent said about the midfielder wanting to stay with Rangers to try & play for the club he loves and supports.

Only a few days ago, Gow turned Burnley FC down during the Lafferty saga so really all this must be saying is that Norwich were willing to pay him more money.

The following word's by Gow's agent will now echo in the ears with one word summing up the statements...bullpoo!!

'Alan has never wanted to leave Rangers and, all along, he has been determined to report back for pre-season and do everything he can to force his way back into the first-team picture.

'Alan supported Rangers as a kid and it has taken him his whole career to get to Ibrox and he never wanted to walk away without giving it another shot.

'Alan was flattered by the interest shown in him by Burnley and Owen Coyle and he had to think long and hard about remaining at Rangers.

'But Alan believes that if he had gone then he would have been left thinking what if' for the rest of his career.

'I believe that, if anything, the interest shown by Burnley and the hunger of Owen Coyle to take him to Turf Moor has given Alan's confidence a boost after what has been a very frustrating season for him.

'Now all his focus is on reporting back for pre-season at Rangers next Wednesday and showing his commitment to the cause.'

What absolute rubbish, we now know it's always been about money as if we didn't already. I just hope Burnley FC got at least 300,000 in compensation from Rangers for messing us about and even then I wonder what shortfall we have suffered under the 4 million rating we put on Lafferty

If this is true what a laughable situation! Still who needs Gow anyway when you got McDonald

Or maybe the lad just doesn't fancy the delights of Burnley? Norwich aren't known for the generosity of their contracts! Some players just never sign, deal with it.

No problems with him not liking Burnley, just cant stand the pathetic bull***** comments from his agent when everyone knew this was all about money and nothing to do with Rangers footballing passion. Players dont have passion to play for any club these days unless there is involved! Norwich are welcome to him, we have moved on and got someone far better with maybe another player called Russell to come from..oh yes..Norwich!! lol

Alan Gow, has apparantly flown to Norwich for a medical and to discuss terms on a 300,000 move.

Rangers wanted rid of him and he knew that, so should have realised his Rangers career was over. It is obviously to do with wages. Maybe the fact that OC was not here to talk to him personally or even that OC did not want him or was not his first choice could be the reason he is not a Claret. I think OC has got his number one choice already or he would have made sure Gow signed for us. We have nothing to be bitter about. We want players to want to play for us and not here for the money.

It is quite possible that Rangers may have been even more determined to get shut of Gow, since they have presumably had to fork out extra money to Burnley FC they were not intending to. Maybe this compensates them for their extra contribution after he refused to sign for Burnley. Wonder what Gow thinks about his beloved Rangers now!! Anyway got that off my chest, time to move on! ;-)

This has just made me laugh:Dundee claim another club, believed to be Norwich City, were interested in taking the Scotland Under-21 international (Kevin McDonald) to the Coca-Cola Championship. So we beat Norwich to signing a player we both wanted and Norwich get lumbered with one that caused us problems. If only we could now sign Daryl Russell then the Canaries embarassment would be complete!!

Well we've got paterson, who was also wanted by norwich, and it looks like riordan will be a claret, both these players are better than Gow who doesn't have a brilliant goal:game ratio. if we do sign russel then that will be a huge embarassment for the caneries. but if Gow does sign for Norwich i can garantee he will score against us.

Well if he does he can Gow to hell!! (sorry ill get my coat!). No, we have definitely done the better deal here, at least the players are wanting to play for us unlike Gow who always seemed reluctant to join somehow

LOL - you boys are funny! If a player signs for you then you "beat" another club to his signature, but if a player chooses another club then it must be down to money!! Jeez, I thought the Tractor Girls were up themselves, but you just took first prize ;) If Darrell Russell moves on, I'll wish him all the best, but I won't be embarrassed. Will you feel snubbed if he stays put? Doubtless it will all be down to the money :P

As the Narch interest in Gow waned then or has he turned the Canaries down too? It's all gone quiet
