The Official Site have just announced that we have signed Peruvian International keeper, Diego Penny subject to a work permit appeal being successful this Friday.

Burnley have signed 6ft 5in Peruvian international goalkeeper Deigo Penny, subject to a successful work permit appeal.
His full-name is Diego Alonso Penny Valdez and he is the captain of club side Coronel Bolognesi, who play in Peru's Primera Division.
Owen Coyle had this to say about the news:
'As far as we are concerned, everything is agreed between us, the player and his respective club.
'We felt that Diego fulfilled the criteria for an automatic work permit, but last year he was rested due to a minor injury for two games and those meant he just fell slightly short of the required criteria.
'However, the player's personal terms have been met and subject to Friday's permit hearing, we would expect Diego to become a Burnley player.'
The player's country must be 70 or higher in the official FIFA world rankings when averaged over the two years preceding the date of the application. Peru are currently ranked 60 so that's one criteria met.
The sticking point is that to be eligible for a work permit a player must also have played in at least 75% of its competitive 'A' team matches he was available for selection, during the two years preceding the date of the application and that target has not been met.
The club now have to argue against a permit rejection at the Appeal this Friday by trying to convince the appeal board that Penny can make a significant contribution to the development of the English game.
They remain confident but no doubt at the back of their minds, there still lurks some concern after the Shelton and Sakiri failures a few seasons back.
