Rumour Mill- Dear Deek Come to Burnley

Rumour Mill- Dear Deek Come to Burnley

Burnley are stepping up their bid to sign Celtic forward Derek Riordan according to the Scottish Sun and other papers.

Riordan was for some time part of Celtic's player-cash bid to bring Lafferty to the club but their Old Firm rival, Rangers won that battle.

Previous bids of £500,000 for Riordan were refused and it is thought Celtic want at least £1 million for the out-of-favour striker.

The Clarets certainly have enough money left from the Lafferty deal alone to pay a £1 million for Riordan but does Owen Coyle think a player who hardly played last season is worth that sort of money?

He certainly sounds an exciting player and there is You Tube footage of him scoring for fun in his Hibs days.

The best part is that he seems just as comfortable on either foot. Without looking at the clips again I believe he takes pens and free kicks with his right foot, but is a very capable left winger using his left foot.

I wouldn't think twice about getting the cash out for Riordan, proven goal scorer, he knows where the goal is and would bag for fun in the Championship

Yep,he is certainly two-footed and can use his head as well! Mainly left footed in play and right footed from set-pieces as you say but he also scored in that footage a few sweet curling chip goals in play with his right foot

him and paterson up front, with berisha and wade on the wings putting some decent crosses in!!!!!!! we would be the envy of the championship.

im a celtic fan and can tell you that most celtic fans would of liked to see him get more of a chance than wgs has given him...if you sign him he will score alot of goals for you and yes he is tottaly 2 footed...cracking player if you get him for 1mil after a season or so he will be valued at alot more than that.
